Looking for an Associate Director, Interaction Design to join us. Must create digital works of art on the regular.

The role

Kettle is a team of passionate, fearless creatives focused on delivering great products, redefining best-practices, and providing new opportunities for our clients and own brands. 

As our team is continuously growing, we are looking for an Associate Creative Director (UX) to lead projects and work closely with Experience and Visual Designers, Product Strategists and Developers. You’ll set new product vision, design new features, and enhance existing ones while establishing scalable UX patterns across platforms.

We’d like to know that you can:

  • Help define design value by identifying user needs, actions, behaviors and emotions through research
  • Deliver end-to-end client solutions, balancing business goals and user needs
  • Be a facilitator of client interaction by assisting in workshop development, user research, user testing and consensus building among teams
  • Build strong client relationships with a solid understanding of their business needs, goals, and how those intersect with the consumer’s experience
  • Be an active participant in client work – you may join a project at the start, or one that is already in full swing. In either case, the ability to jump in and be okay with asking questions will be extremely important
  • Set product visions and bring new ideas to the table 
  • Collaborate with designers on all levels
  • Be a part of both internal and client work sessions – this allows everyone to sketch (and re-sketch) to work through ideas before sitting down to the computer 
  • Manage and mentor designers of all levels, helping them chart their career path and provide opportunities to grow
  • Be a key member of multiple teams throughout full project lifecycles
  • Support and learn from other disciplines, for ex: brainstorm features with strategy, participate in user research, answer tech questions 
  • Be a champion of design standards and best practice
  • Effectively act on client feedback, user testing results and learnings to iterate products to more mature states that deliver better value for
  • Push the boundaries of expected outcomes toward new ways of seeing and addressing problems
  • Open to being hands on throughout the process

Candidates should have:

  • Interaction or product experience in either agency or related environments designing applications, websites and mobile experiences
  • Experience working on projects that are built from the ground up, as well as built on existing platforms
  • The ability to clearly articulate your decision-making and design process, challenge assumptions respectfully, and give and receive feedback 
  • The ability to lead the IxD stream of work on projects, understanding how to break larger projects down into smaller tracts to handoff to designers 
  • Strong proficiency in developing wireframes, site maps, user journeys
  • Have experience planning and conducting workshops internally and externally
  • An exceptional attention to detail 
  • Experience using lean/agile product development models
  • Experience developing and launching mobile applications for the most current iOS and Android versions are a plus
  • Prototyping experience in one or more tools such as Principle, Proto.io, Flinto, or Invision
  • Proficient in Figma, Sketch, and Adobe CC Suite
  • An appreciation of soft skills, specifically, listening and communicating effectively – in writing, speaking, and presenting (in-person and on conference calls)
